The 1st XV won a hard fought match against second in the league St Albans by 13-7, a score which does not reflect the dominance that the OH had over their opponents. The win cements the top of the table place, although the new second placed side, Stevenage Town, have a superior number of bonus points which brings the points differential much closer.

This Saturday the 1st XV play Welwyn at home.

The 2nd XV lost 10-26 to Letchworth but retain their 3rd place in the league, behind their opponents and Hampstead. This week the 2nds are away at Old Albanians.

The club enjoyed its traditional Annual Dinner at the Mount Royal Hotel, Marble Arch on Saturday. Over 60 current and former players enjoyed a great evening with speeches and presentations.

It is with much sorrow that we advise you of the death of Simon Boyes, who passed away in the company of his wife earlier today.

Born on 11^th February 1950, Simon began his 33 year career at Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School in September 1976.  He progressed through roles such as Head of General Studies and Careers until he was promoted to Senior Master under Keith Dawson and then Second Master under Jeremy Goulding.  For a time he was acting Headmaster following Mr Goulding’s move to Shrewsbury.

Simon will be missed by his former pupils, who will recall a first-rate teacher of Chemistry; by his former colleagues, who will grieve a man who was a model of kindness and efficiency and who was always willing to offer support.  He was as an outstanding Second Master and will be remembered by all those family and friends whose lives he touched.

OH continued 2012 with 2 wins on 14th January:

 1^st XV beat 2nd placed Stevenage Town away 22 points to 12 to retain place at top of the table 

2^nd XV beat Hampstead 2nd XV 26 points to 3 in another top of the table clash

The 1st XV had a week off last week but the 2nd XV enjoyed another win 27-19 over a strong Harpenden XV and stand 3rd in the Merit Table.

1^st XV home to St Albans (2.15pm k/o) who currently lie second in the table

2^nd XV at home to Letchworth (2^nd in the merit table)

 Plus of course in the evening there is the Annual Club Dinner at the Thistle Marble Arch (Mount Royal)
