HABERDASHERS' 1729 CLUB

1729 is notable in the world of mathematics.  If you want to know why then ask any mathematician, worth his salt, for a hint.

The club began when several groups of Old Haberdashers', who had studied A level mathematics together, wished to have a reunion at a London venue.  The philosophy is to provide opportunities for former pupils and staff to have a chance to catch up, etc, etc.

The Nullarbor Dinner is a reasonably informal occasion.  Old boys who have studied  A level mathematics, or a related subject, are welcome.  Even old boys who would have liked to have studied mathematics might like to come.

The 2007 dinner will be held on Saturday 1st September at the Victory Services Club, near Marble Arch,  7pm for 7.30pm to around 11 pm (although we had to dash to catch last trains at midnight last time).   Cost £32, inclusive of pre and dinner wines.

If you would like to come, press this link for details and an application form.

The 1729 club also organises mathematics and engineering problem solving conferences for current pupils at the school, in coordination with the mathematics department.   These have been held at various venues:  hotels (maybe in France), Old Boys Clubhouse, etc.
